What do hummingbirds symbolize?
Hummingbirds have special significance across many cultures around the world. Here are just a few meanings behind this small but mighty bird:
Joy and delight: With their vibrant colors and quick, energetic movements, hummingbirds are known as symbols of joy and delight—a reminder to stay energized and seek out the “sweetness” of life. (Just like hummingbirds seek out nectar from flowers!)
Love and healing: Hummingbirds are seen as symbols of love and romance, and they’re also associated with healing and positive energy. Green hummingbirds, in particular, are known as reminders to take time for self-care and seek out inner peace.
Good luck: Seeing a hummingbird has long been considered a sign of good luck and good fortune. In Native American cultures, spotting a hummingbird before an important event, like as a hunting trip, was considered a good omen.
Strength and resilience: Hummingbirds are tiny creatures, but they can migrate long distances—a symbol of inner strength, resilience and the ability to overcome obstacles.
What does the hummingbird mean to DERMAFLASH?
The hummingbird has a special meaning to our founder, Dara Levy. “The hummingbird is my spirit animal, and a lot of times, when I need like a little bit of guidance from the universe, I’ll inevitably see a hummingbird.”
In addition to being a symbol of hope, joy and good luck for Dara personally, the hummingbird also has a special significance to DERMAFLASH as a brand. The hummingbird’s unique characteristics inspired Dara when she was in the process of creating the beauty industry’s first-ever sonic dermaplaning tool.
